    GBS/CIDP Awareness Month

    May is GBS/CIDP Awareness Month.

    Guillain-Barré Syndrome is an inflammatory disorder of the peripheral nerves outside the brain and spinal cord. Chronic Inflammatory Demyelinating Polyneuropathy is a rare disorder of the peripheral nerves characterized by gradually increasing sensory loss and weakness associated with loss of reflexes.

    By raising public awareness to these rare disorders comes opportunity for increased resources for those living with or affected by GBS or CIDP, including research opportunities to better understand the disorders and improve long-term care and support.
