    Important Voting Information for Port Hardy Residents

    Mark your calendars! Voting for the Provincial Candidates is on October 19th at the Port Hardy Civic Centre, located at 7450 Columbia Street. Polls will be open from 8 AM to 8 PM Pacific Time.

    Who Can Vote?

    You can vote if you are:

    • A Canadian citizen
    • 18 years old or older on October 19, 2024
    • A resident of B.C. since April 18, 2024

    About the Election

    Voters will elect 93 Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs). Each Member represents an electoral district (or riding) and has a seat in the provincial Legislature. The political party with the most seats in the Legislature will form B.C.’s next government.

    Advance Voting

    Don’t want to wait until the 19th? You can cast your vote early! Advance voting is available at the Port Hardy Civic Centre from Thursday, October 10th to Saturday, October 12th, also from 8 AM to 8 PM each day.

    Accessibility

    The Port Hardy Civic Centre is wheelchair accessible, ensuring everyone can participate in the electoral process.

    What to Bring

    To vote, you need to show a valid form of identification, which can include:

    • A BC Driver’s Licence
    • A BC Identification Card (BCID)
    • A BC Services Card (with photo)
    • A Certificate of Indian Status

    You can also show two documents, both with your name and at least one with your current home address.
