RCMP Appreciation Day February 1, 2025
January 31, 2025

On January 31st, Mayor and Council joined members of the Port Hardy RCMP Detachment to show gratitude for their service.
“On behalf of the citizens of Port Hardy, we are gathered here today on the traditional territory of the Kwakiutl to recognize RCMP officers on this RCMP Appreciation Day. It is an honor to extend our appreciation to the individuals who serve and protect our communities.
In a world filled with challenges and uncertainties, RCMP officers stand as guardians of peace and safety. Your commitment to upholding the law, ensuring justice, and safeguarding the well-being of others is truly commendable.
By wearing your uniform, you embody courage, integrity, and sacrifice, tackling challenges head-on to create a secure environment.
Behind each badge is a story of service, resilience, and duty. We know that you work tirelessly to build bridges within our communities, fostering trust and collaboration with compassion and understanding.
We also wish to acknowledge the families of our officers, whose unwavering support is integral to their dedication.
On this day, we express our heartfelt gratitude for your sacrifices. You are the silent heroes who ensure our security and peace. Thank you for your unyielding bravery and commitment to keeping our North Island communities safe.
Your work is so important, and we offer our sincerest thanks. Happy RCMP Appreciation Day!”
