May 5th is Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls and 2-Spirit Awareness Day.

This day is dedicated to raising awareness that Indigenous women, girls, and two-spirit persons are more likely to experience acts of violence than any other demographic in Canada, that there is need for urgent, informed, and collaborative action, and renewal of society’s collective commitment to taking action and addressing acts of systemic violence.

Members of the community are invited to participate in a MMIWG2S gathering to commemorate, honour, and remember those who’s lives have been lost.
