    The District of Port Hardy invites applications for the position of full-time Utilities Operator in Training Position.

    Reporting to the Utilities Supervisor, a Utilities Operator in Training (OIT) is responsible for assisting in operating the facilities and equipment within the Water and Wastewater Treatment Facilities, Water Distribution and Wastewater Collection Systems. This position will be able to assist in performing scheduled maintenance, laboratory analysis, chemical batching and dosing adjustments, SCADA operation and other day-to-day activities.

    Qualifications and Requirements:

      • Hold a valid B.C. Driver’s License (Class 5)
      • Completion of grade 12 education
      • Hold an Operator in Training and Small Water Systems EOCP certification preferred
      • Computer literacy and technological skills

    This is a Union position with a wage rate of $29.09, as per IUOE collective agreement 2020-2024.
