WELCOME CARVING
The District of Port Hardy is requesting quotations for 1 (one) five to six foot tall traditional Kwakwaka’wakw Welcome Figure.
Port Hardy is located on the Traditional Territory of the Kwakiutl people. The District of Port Hardy successfully secured a grant from Islands Coast Economic Trust (ICET) to place a five to six foot carving of a Kwakwaka’wakw welcome figure at the Visitor Centre, located in Carrot Park on Market Street. This opportunity is open to all Kwakwaka’wakw carvers to submit their vision to add to this space and honour the past, present and future.
Project requirements are outlined in the tender package below:
Quotations may be submitted by email to: tenders@porthardy.ca or in a sealed envelope, clearly marked with the artist’s name and above project name and description and be received by 4:00 pm Friday, February 3, 2023.
