WE ARE GETTING READY TO MAKE A BIG SPLASH

    Outdoor Recreation

Port Hardy has been called “one of North America’s best as-yet undiscovered outdoor adventure destinations,” by Hello BC. It is becoming a “must see” destination for ecotourism enthusiasts for its access to many world class adventures, including fishing, hiking, caving, boating, camping, world-class scuba diving and serious quantities of wildlife in coastal waters, wilderness parks and nicely mature second-growth woodland habitat.

Port Hardy serves as the gateway for BC Ferries popular northern route to the Inside Passage and Prince Rupert, and as the access point to the Cape Scott and North Coast Trails. It also offers many local nature viewing trails, including the Quatse Loop and the new Fort Rupert Trail. Green space is also in abundance with many parks and playgrounds, including scenic Carrot Park in the downtown core and Storey’s Beach Park, which offers the area’s longest white sand beach in Port Hardy.
